comment [en]	The biceps femoris muscle is a muscle of the posterior part of the thigh. It consists of two parts. Both heads perform knee flexion. The long head originates from the pelvis and additonally extends the hip. It is innervated by the tibial nerve. The short head is only able to flex the knee joints and laterally rotates the knee. It is innervated by the common peroneal branch.
