In der Pons ist Zwischenstation f?r ?bertragungen vom Gro?hirn zum Kleinhirn, au?erdem enth?lt es das ARAS, und viele Kerne der >Vitalfunktionen wie essen, Atmung, Schluckreflex, Blutdruck etc. Au?erdem sind Hirnnervenkerne enthalten.

The Pons contains nuclei that relay signals from the cerebrum to the cerebellum , along with nuclei that deal primarily with sleep, respiration, swallowing, bladder control. Within the pons in the pneomotaxis center, a nucelus in the pons that regulates the change from inspiration to exspiration. A number of cranial nerve nuclei are present in the pons:
